Here is everything you need to know about Battery Energy Storage Systems.

Depth of Discharge

The percentage of the battery's capacity that can be used without damaging the battery and assuring its long life span (e.g., discharging 80% of a full battery).

State of Charge

The battery's "fuel gauge." 100% is full; 0% is empty.

Round-Trip Efficiency

The percentage of energy that can be retrieved from storage after accounting for losses during charging and discharging.

The rate at which a battery is charged or discharged relative to its maximum capacity. A 1C rate means the battery will fully discharge in 1 hour. A 0.5C Rate means it will fully discharge in 2 hours.

The speed at which a battery can change its power output, from "idle" to "maximum power".

Often referred to as Standby Losses or Parasitic Loads, they represent the energy a system consumes simply by being "on," even when it isn't actively charging or discharging power to the grid.

The difference between the highest and lowest electricity prices in a given market over a specific period.
TB1 refers to the difference between the single highest hourly price and the single lowest hourly price of the day.
